  • LFA: 31,000 m²
  • Function: office
  • Start of construction: 2015
  • Completion: 2018
  • Location: Amsteldijk 166, Amsterdam
Rivierstaete, Amsterdam

Following a major transformation, the Rivierstaete office building was sold at the end of 2018 for 228.5 million euros. The German company DWS Grundbesitz is the new owner of this striking building on the Amstel river in Amsterdam.

In 2013 Peak Development assisted Vastint with the purchase of Rivierstaete, an office building dating from 1972 with a floor area of approx. 31,000 m² and 357 parking spaces on freehold land. The purchase price at that time was 18.5 million euros. Rivierstaete is a prominent landmark along the Amstel river in the district known as 'De Omval'. However, much of the building was empty and very dated.

Peak Development assisted the purchaser, not only with the purchase itself, but also with the development of the office building. Following a highly successful collaboration with MVSA Architects it has now been thoroughly renovated, with all the external walls being replaced with transparent facades to give it an open aspect to the city. The interior, including all the systems, has also been renewed. Two-thirds of the building [Riverside] has been let to WPP advertising agency, which is now fitting it out, and at the start of Q2 2019 will relocate operations in phases to Rivierstaete. The remaining part of the building has been let to Message Bird and Regus.
